Peace 4 Peyton Water Safety Awareness was started in memory of my son Peyton Alec Zander Truett. Peyton had a fatal drowning accident August 25, 2013, he was 4 years old at the time. My main purpose is to help other families prevent a water tragedy by voicing Peyton's drowning accident. Peyton was autistic and had seizures.
I learned so much I wish I would of known before! Drowning is the number one cause of death for those with Autistim and those with seizures. I try to do this in a fun caring way to younger children by teaching the importance of being safe in and around water. I do public speaking mainly to adults to bring water safety Awareness to our community.
I am a member of the NDPA (national drowning Prevention Alliance), Families United to prevent drowning & volunteer closely with Joshua Collinsworth memorial foundation (Josh the otter). I teach swim lessons at the Chambersburg YMCA and private in home lessons through AquaMobile. I offer funding for swim lessons through fundraising events.
